we had the time to travel around a little bit and we spent 12 days in Holland...

how lovely...I would invite every one to spend some time at Camping DeRoos in Beerze...no matter how you camp - tent caravan or a rented house in the woods....

as a long time DeWaard tent - enthusiast I had to visit some stores so I saw Heerde and Roden...
I also visited other brands - top makers of Dutch tents - which seems to be rare these times...

I thought over buying a green coloured (very dark, modern green) Goudplevier on which I would have got some discount for the show model - but I would have had to buy the mounted Serreluifel as well - what has not matching in colours with the tent...so I did not...

All in all I have to say...regarding DeWaard....who ever had the idea to add this dark and cheap looking colours what are on the market now...dark brown...grey...dark green....should possibly change his profession...

holiday is bright, good times are not dark...grey and dark brown is not a fun colour....this is so obscure...

The dark orange colour combined with grey looked dirty to me...the brand stitchings are looking cheap....

I feel this is not the way to treat a premium brand...much more...this is a way to ruin a brand...in my opinion...

I can buy stools...buckets...tables....whatsoever...with a deWaard logo...but I cant buy a - for my opinion - beautiful quality tent....

and this makes me very sad.....I have to say...and I hope they return with red, green, yellow aso.....and dont get down in quality....

I don't like them aswell, they are to gloomy. For a while you could nearly only buy grey floor tiles, sofa's and so on overhere. Any colour was good unless it was grey.
I was happy to see, that Ikea has blue sofa's again... So perhaps bright colours will come back.

Camping De Roos in Beerze, I also like it, I have'nt been there for a while.

I like the colours from De waard tents.

Ik think so too, de waard needs tot stay within their former colour range and ignore the hype in black Grey.

it goes much deeper to me - as I loved those dramatic lines sidewards the tents - for me pieces of Art....the Roerdomp-Lepelaar-Stormvogel....

the new Stormvogel looked dead straight on the side - so they changed the design as well - it lost a lot of dynamics on the look....

maybe I am an old fart - but Im really suffering about this ...

and at least its always a matter of personal likes...

got me a (beautiful) pre-used Karsten 300 over Marktplaats
and ordered a new Cameleon in Uden...

blaming De Waard on recent looks and design choices and then buying a Chameleon ist not really fitting each other . I love products made in Uden, bought already from T+M as well, but the Cerca, the Chameleon Junior and the Cabana are by far, at least to my eyes, the ones meeting the perfect lines of De Waard. At the last show I found the Chameleon nice, but too bulky in shape, a PD with a bit too much weight on the hips.

However, as long as De Waard can sell a lot of tents, I'm happy. Let them bring each year a classic back and I'm even more happy. Waiting for a re-release of the Zilverplevier.

Not really, I had a few talks about the Atomatent line with quite a few people at the last various forum meetings and there is a big agreement on Atomatent quality, but some vary differing thoughts on looks of the individuell models.

On the color topic I would agree, to me the older Sahara with green and whitish bisonyl rocks, like was available in the Kroonend or the Kermitgreen Albatros. Maybe one day retro will come back. Design usually cycles.

PS: my GP has 4 colors, two greens, two beige colors

Atomatent and deWaard are for sure two different shoes...no doubt....

the windshieds are making the main difference - I will learn if those are practical or not - I feel so...

I never accepted colour deviations in premium tents - and I feel its not acceptable in that price range...

and all is better then grey - dark brown aso... well...at least in my opinion...

I heard the grey is allready on retour for houses, the new trend is more colours, so I asume also for tents the grey will disappear

I would assume that ist why we have now those two color "fronts" of the Stormvogel 2017, Albatros ++ and the VZM. Plus the edge design front look an attempt to bring fresh wind into a traditional market.

The bottom line ist, De Waard is to big to afford any real poor selling version. So I'm afraid, whatever they produce in the grown up tents is probably adhering to pure marketing rules only, they have to, they need to.

My own problem ist rather that noktent with a real binnentent for two persons are getting bigger and bigger. So where some here fail to buy due to colors, due to design changes, it is in my case a simple lack of variety in smaller fully optioned models. C'est la vie.
