Hi Phil,
I recently inherited an Albatros Jr, Type 1, which my parents brought back in the early 80's. The intention, this BH weekend, is for our family of 5 to have this plus a Vango force 10.
My daughter, at the grand old age of 8 1/2 decided she is to old to share a tent with the rest of us so she is in the Vango which leaves 2 ad and 2 4y/o's in the Albatros Jr. Checking in the garden with 2 short beds for the boys and self inflating mats for the wife and I we should just fit in the back half of the tent.
Pitching i would estimate at 20mins plus then the kitting out with the rest of the gear.

Lovely size tent for a small family plus if its just you and the boy you have plenty of inside space for camping in the Welsh weather,

Hi All, took delivery of my De Waard a month ago and went camping in it two weeks ago.

I absolutely love the tent, having a fitted ground sheet and 'hoarder' ket the flies out (i was a little worried that without an innerten that flies would be an issue.

Many thanks to Maris who as show a lot of patience, it was a shame that i could get the TUreluur in tim, but the ZIlvermeeum i have is amazing! It is genuinely difficult to think that it is 20 + years old.

And more thanks to Marlies who found the tent, went to see it, bought it (i think she had plans for it if i didn't have it...,, parcel it up and send by courier.

The packaging was amazing but have to say the amount of poles set me aback after my simple Eldorado. Thankfully Marlies has colour coded the poles so i know now what i am doing ( little...)

Hopefully my pitch time will come down somewhat, but i have no issues in using this for a weekend camp of 2 3 or 4 days, but have already bitten the De Waard bug and may be looking for another De Waard for one night camps - maybe something small like a Koningstern or a Kleine Burgemeester

The campsite i went to is called Pencelli Castle in the Brecon Beacons. Lovely well maintained site, good clean toilets and showers, and even better for me a 'family room' bathroom for those with children. A pub just down the road with an old canal going behind it makes easy evening meals possible, My only criticism is tariff, as i juts had my young sons i only had to many for myself at 12.50 per night, but for families with children (6.80 per night) and electric hookup (3.80) the costs soon add up

It is a very nice tent with many weeks to go. And the price was realy good. Now you can buy a second de Waard

Het contact met Phil was erg leuk. En ik ben blij dat ik heb kunnen helpen.
Het is een hele mooie zilvermeeuw ( heel weinig staweken voor een hele lage prijs) geworden met zonneluifel en 2 zijschermen en een drie delig scheidings gordijn. Super treffer!
De tent stond hier in de buurt te koop.
Het opsturen met GLS ging heel snel.
Ik vind het heel dapper dat Phil met zijn twee kleine kinderen van 3 en 1 jaar oud in zijn eentje wil gaan kamperen. Ik geef het je te doen. Als het net zulke woelwaters zijn als die van mij heb je ogen in je voor en achter hoofd nodig. Ook wij zijn stan tijdens het opruimen van onze tent een keer kwijt geweest. Hij had een fietsje zien staan en foetsie was hij. Kan de schrik nog voelen.

Phil ik vind dat je de tent voor de eerste keer heel goed hebt opgezet.
Zeker met die twee kleine mannetjes om je heen!
En ik ben zo blij dat de tent je goed bevalt, vond het wel heel spannend.
En dat je nu al aangestoken bent na een weekend met het de Waard virus
De volgende komt er vast ook.
