Hello All,
This is my first post on the forum, having been a visitor on and off for a while now.

Having been given my parents old Albatros Jr I, last weekend I unpacked and erected it for the first time in something like 20yrs! Totally unsure of what I would find I was delighted to find the tent itself in amazing condition. Really nice green. Credit to my dad for attention to detail in packing and storing.

Speaking to Mum it was purchased in about 1984 and has seen not much more than 8 weeks use in the next 33yrs. Which probably also explains how kind time has been.

Before I can share any pics I do have one issue, the horizontal support pole (Blauw?) is incomplete. Does anyone know where I can buy or have made a replacement? Any leads/ideas would be gratefully received. I have many happy memories of camping round Brittany in this tent and am really exited about sharing the experience of camping in a proper tent with my kids.

I contacted DeWaard directly and they no-longer have the poles in stock. So as recommended I shall try the home made option. I have ordered an adjustable steel, awning pole and got some c-clips from a local DIY store.

Lets see how it goes - I am not known for being good at making things...

Update: I have a friend who I never really knew what his job was - other than he makes things. I thought from wood. Turns out he works at a sheet metal factory and can make me a couple of these clasps - so I have spares.

Hopefully I should have them for the weekend so will post a picture with the finished article.
