Hi we have just returned from our first week away in our new (to us) Albatross judging from the badges and curtains it was made in the late 80's. It has three wind curtains 2 with 1 full length and one shorter zip and one with full length zips. Is it possible to get a vario awning to fit this tent? There is one for sale at the moment but i am unsure of what questions i should ask to make sure it is correct. Failling that would make us one?
The first trip was to the north devon coast nothing dramatic happened but it survived sun, rain, some gusty offshore winds and a little fog and remained the most comfortable tent I have used since my teenage years in a Force 10

We have just purchased our first Albatross, for which we have been looking for a vario awning to complete the all weather functionality. Ours is circa 1995 and I rather hastily purchased a vario from Marktplaats based on an assumed age, that I now know to be incorrect. The key dimensions are the zip lengths on the side panels and the where the sun shade zips in the centre.

I have also made enquiries with a UK DeWaard agent to purchase a new one. They advised me to contact DeWaard directly, advising that I may need to send the tent to Holland to guarantee the custom made vario fits correctly. They also advised there is 20% premium for the order. This is all very understandable given whats involved, but when you price it up, including the postage etc its eye wateringly expensive.

The dimensions for our vario zips are 220cm on the sides and 175cm in the centre. If this seems to be correct let me know.
